The queen arrived in the United States at Kennedy Airport on Tuesday after a visit to Canada.
After addressing the General Assembly and meeting with UN officials and diplomats, Elizabeth to visit, the World Trade Center site, a wreath in memory of the thousands who died in September 11, 2001, attacks, including 67 Britons.
The queen and her husband, Prince Philip, were greeted by UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon and General Assembly President Ali Treki Abdessalam and their wives.

NEW YORK (AP) - Queen Elizabeth arrived in New York for the first time in nearly 35 years.
The 84-year-old British monarch arrived at Kennedy Airport Tuesday after a visit to Canada. She is led by the United Nations, where she is expected to appeal for unity and world peace.
Elizabeth will then visit the World Trade Center, a wreath in memory of the thousands who died in the 9 / 11 attack, including 67 Britons.
The queen of five hours visit to New York ends Tuesday in nearby Hanover Square. She will open the British Garden of Remembrance and meet families of British victims.
Elizabeth is traveling with her husband, Prince Philip.
